One of the most common questions we hear from new clients is: "How does this actually work?" Temporary fencing hire sounds straightforward in principle, but when you're managing a construction timeline, a council permit application, or an event deadline, the operational detail matters enormously. This article walks through the complete Rentafence hire process — from your first enquiry through to final pack-down.
Step 1: Initial Enquiry and Site Assessment
The process starts with a conversation. You can reach us by phone, email, or through our website, and we'll ask you questions to understand your project: site location, access constraints, fencing purpose, approximate perimeter length, required start date, and expected hire duration.
For straightforward projects — a standard residential construction site or a small event — this conversation is usually sufficient to generate an accurate quote. For more complex projects, we may recommend a site visit before finalising the proposal.
Step 2: Quote and Confirmation
Rentafence provides detailed, itemised quotes that cover panel supply, ballast and couplers, any specialist components (gates, anti-climb panels, screening, bracing frames), delivery, installation labour, and the agreed hire period. We don't hide costs in fine print.
As an ISO 9001:2015 certified business, all our processes — including order management and scheduling — are subject to documented quality procedures that ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
Step 3: Delivery Within 24-48 Hours
For standard hire requests in metropolitan NSW and major regional centres, Rentafence targets a delivery window of 24-48 hours from booking confirmation. Delivery is made by flatbed truck with our installation crew. Panels, ballast feet, couplers, gates, and any other components are delivered together so installation can commence immediately on arrival.
Step 4: Professional Installation
Our installation crews are experienced, trained, and equipped. During installation, our crew will mark out the agreed fencing line, install panels with correctly torqued couplers, position ballast feet and additional bracing where required, install gates at agreed access points, and conduct a final walk-around inspection before leaving site.
Step 5: Hire Period and Pack-Down
During the hire period, we're available to support you. When your project is complete, contact us to schedule pack-down and collection. Our crew will remove all panels, ballast, and hardware, leaving your site clear. Pack-down is our job.
Ready to get started? Contact the Rentafence team for a fast, no-obligation quote on your next project. We'll handle the fencing — you focus on the job.
