How does hiring a fence actually work?

You tell us what the site needs, we quote it, and once accepted the fencing is delivered and installed on the agreed date. At the end of the hire it is collected. Between those dates the perimeter is doing its job and you are getting on with yours.

Why do you quote rather than list prices?

Because the honest price depends on quantity, duration, location and what the site needs beyond panels: gates, bracing, ballast, sheeting. A list price would either overcharge simple jobs or undercharge real ones. Request a quote and the number reflects your actual job.

How do I work out how many metres I need?

Measure the boundary you need to enclose and add the gates. The fencing calculator turns dimensions into a panel count, or send a site plan through with your enquiry and we will take it from there.

How far ahead should I book?

More notice always helps, but the practical answer depends on season and scale. A suburban job from a nearby branch can move quickly. Long runs, special products or peak periods, event season, end of year, want weeks rather than days. Booking early costs nothing; booking late sometimes costs the date.

What if my site changes mid hire?

It happens constantly and it is fine: runs get extended, gates get moved, hire periods stretch with the project. Tell us as early as the change is known, particularly for extra quantity, so fleet is reserved before you need it standing.

What am I responsible for during the hire?

Reasonable care of the equipment, and telling us if something is damaged or missing rather than waiting for pickup day. If a run gets moved for a delivery or knocked by plant, put it back or call us: a gap in the fence line is a gap in whatever the fence was protecting.

Can the fence be sheeted with shade cloth or banners?

Yes, and it is popular: banner mesh turns a perimeter into signage, and shade cloth adds screening and dust control. Sheeting adds wind load, so it changes the bracing and ballast on the run. Flag it in the quote request so the fence is engineered for it from day one, not upgraded after a windy night.

Is temporary fencing okay around a pool?

Standard mesh, no. Pool barriers are their own standard, AS 1926.1, with strict rules on height, gaps, non climbable zones and gates. The compliant products are the pool panels with the temporary pool gate, hired as a pair. The detail is in our NSW pool regulations guide.

Do I need council permission?

On your own land, generally no. On or over public land, footpath, verge, road reserve, usually yes, from the local council, with lead times that vary widely. Our state by state guide covers what applies where.

What else can arrive on the same truck?

Most of a site setup: crowd control barriers, portable toilets, site sheds, skip bins, water barriers, site cameras. One order, one delivery window, one contact.
